What it is about

You learn how concepts from robotics are used to describe, analyze, and apply human movement control in applications such as rehabilitation, sport, and exercise. In the end you will be able to apply robotic principles to motor control, create simple models, and plan and present a research project in Human Robotics.

What you will be able to do

  • Apply robotic principles to human motor control
  • Read and evaluate scientific articles
  • Explain computational aspects of movement control
  • Understand and use robotic systems in the laboratory
  • Learn relevant human physiology
  • Explain applications for sport, exercise, and rehabilitation
  • Discuss social issues surrounding the use of robotics
  • Design and conduct a research project in Human Robotics

What the module consists of

  • SeminarLecture and discussion format for conveying theory and developing research projects
  • LaborPractical exercises, discussions, presentations, simple modeling and examination of robotic systems to study motor control

Teaching method

  • Seminar with lecture and discussionConveying theoretical content and collaborative discussion of literature and project ideas
  • Laboratory exercises and presentationsPractical application, simple modeling, and handling of robotic systems to study human motor control
