Research Project on Mechanisms of Microbiota-Pathogen interaction

What it is about

You work in a practice-oriented research laboratory on microbiota–pathogen interactions, combining laboratory work (wet lab) with data analysis (dry lab). In the end you will be able to independently plan, conduct in the lab, and present the results in writing and orally for a hypothesis-driven research project.

What you will be able to do

• Formulate hypothesis-driven research questions
• Independent laboratory work in microbiology and microbiome research
• Application and optimization of modern methods and assays
• Investigation of nutrient competition and inhibitory compounds
• Isolation and characterization of microbial strains
• Data analysis on growth, nutrient consumption and metabolic networks
• Scientific documentation in the form of a manuscript
• Scientific presentation to a non-specialist audience
