Moderation (RESET)

What it is about

You learn how to purposefully shape inter- and transdisciplinary communication and moderation situations with various stakeholders. In the end you will be able to moderate meetings with 3–20 participants, recognize communication barriers and, through targeted techniques, ensure respectful and results-oriented discussions.

Awareness of communication challenges with different stakeholders
Empathic yet assertive communication posture in moderations
Application of effective moderation techniques (e.g., active listening, paraphrasing, questioning techniques)
Design and maintenance of respectful, results-oriented group discussions
Reflection on communication patterns and adjustment of problematic group dynamics

Assessment

Written PaperEssay

You write a Research Paper (2,000–3,000 words) in which you present a case analysis or a reflection of your own and other people's communication patterns in moderation situations. In the paper you demonstrate that you recognize communication challenges, can adopt an empathic and assertive stance, can apply moderation techniques, and can alter critical group dynamics when necessary.
