Advanced Course on 3D Computational Modelling for Biomedical Applications

What it is about

You will learn how to build, numerically solve, and evaluate 3D computer models for various biomedical applications. After the course you will be able to apply basic modeling methods, implement models in Python and COMSOL, and interpret results for applications in electromagnetism, material and heat transport, structural mechanics, and fluid dynamics.

What you will be able to do

• Understand the basic principles of biomedical devices and their interaction with tissue
• Understand the basic concepts of finite element analysis
• Develop and analyze 3D models of biomedical systems with various modeling tools
• Develop and analyze models using ordinary and partial differential equations
• Implement, analyze, and present results of models in Python and COMSOL Multiphysics

What the module consists of

• Lecture (1 SWS)Introduction to concepts and theories of 3D modeling and biomedical applications
• Practicum / practical exercises (2 SWS)Implementation and solution of computer models for lecture topics, practical work in Python and COMSOL
