Block course Soft Microrobotics

What it is about

You learn fundamentals and current concepts of soft microrobotics with a focus on biomedical applications. You understand drive and propulsion principles, materials and fabrication methods of soft micromachines and can conduct and evaluate simple biomanipulative experiments with biocompatible microrobots in the lab.

What you will be able to do

Understand functional principles of microrobotics
Describe various actuation methods for soft micromachines
Apply knowledge on the manufacture of microrobotic components
Design a microrobot concept for cell manipulation
Carry out biomanipulative experiments on cells with biocompatible microrobots
Analyze biocompatibility of microdevices by evaluating cell vitality
Evaluate the performance of microrobots based on biomanipulation capability and biocompatibility
