You learn how to design and implement data structures for main memory and swapping so that they work truly fast and space-saving on modern hardware. The lecture conveys hardware fundamentals and shows optimizations for hash tables, search trees, tries and similar structures; in the end you can develop your own domain-specific variants and synchronize them in a scalable way for multi-core processors.
