What it is about

You learn how to test software whose logic and decisions rely heavily on artificial intelligence. At the end you can design test strategies for data-driven, AI-based systems, select appropriate test methods, and critically evaluate test results.

What you will be able to do

  • Analysis of AI-based software systems
  • Adaptation of classical testing concepts to AI systems
  • Design of test cases and test data for data-intensive applications
  • Evaluation of performance and quality metrics
  • Assessment of non-functional properties (e.g. bias, fairness)
  • Scientific engagement and written presentation of topics

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungConveying the fundamental principles and techniques with theoretical and practical examples
  • Self-study/AssignmentsDeepening and applying the concepts through accompanying individual tasks
  • Presentation/Written workDevelopment of the written representation of the topics covered

Teaching method

  • Presentation with slidesIntroduction to principles and techniques; illustration through examples
  • Practice tasks for self-studyPractising and applying the taught methods
  • Whiteboard explanationsAdditional visualization and explanation of concepts
