AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You learn how software for quantum computers is built and how you design, realize and execute quantum applications on existing platforms. In the end you will practically implement, simulate, compile, verify and prepare quantum algorithms for real quantum processors.

What you will be able to do

  • Understand the paradigm of quantum computing and evaluate differences to classical computer science
  • Judge whether an application is suitable for quantum computing
  • Use and extend data structures and core methods for quantum computing
  • Use and, if necessary, extend software solutions for simulation, compilation and verification of quantum circuits
  • Realize, simulate, compile, verify and run quantum circuits

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungConveying concepts and fundamentals using slides and whiteboard sketches
  • Hands-on-Sessions/ÜbungenDeepening lecture content through practical work with software tools

Teaching method

  • Presentations with slides and whiteboard sketchesExplanation of the main concepts
  • Practical exercise sessions with software toolsEnable individual hands-on experience and deepening
