Einführung in die digitale Signalverarbeitung

IN2061Elective Modules Informatics7 ECTSGerman/Englishsummer semesterDepartment Computer Engineering
AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You learn the fundamentals of digital signal processing: signals and systems in the time and frequency domain, discretization, filter operations, frequency transformations, compression techniques and initial aspects of digital image processing. You also learn how the algorithms are implemented on a digital signal processor (DSP) and apply these implementations in the lab. In the end you can analyze theoretical concepts and practically implement suitable algorithms.

What you will be able to do

  • Understand signals and systems in the time and frequency domain
  • Perform discrete signal processing and discretization
  • Apply filter operations and frequency transformations
  • Assess and apply compression techniques
  • Learn the fundamentals of digital image processing
  • Implement algorithms on a digital signal processor (DSP)

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungDelivery of theoretical foundations and introduction to the topics
  • ÜbungApplication, discussion of exercise sheets and practical implementation on DSP
  • SelbststudiumWork on exercise problems and deepening of lecture content

Teaching method

  • Vortrag/Präsentationfor structured conveyance of the content
  • Aufgaben während der Vorlesungfor active engagement with the topics
  • Übungsblätterfor deepening and practical application; solutions are discussed in the lab
