What it is about

You learn patterns in software engineering and how to apply them: from architecture and design patterns to test and organizational patterns up to anti-patterns. By the end you can identify patterns for analysis, system and detail design, model them in UML, and translate the model into Java source code.

What you will be able to do

  • Know categories of patterns (architecture, design, test, organization, anti-pattern)
  • Understanding of patterns as a means to reuse expert knowledge
  • Assess applicability of patterns to concrete problems
  • Create UML models that contain patterns
  • Translate UML models into Java source code

What the module consists of

  • LectureExplanation of patterns and joint practice on concrete problems
  • Homework / Self-studyDeepening and practice of the presented patterns

Teaching method

  • Blended learning (integrated learning)Links knowledge transfer and problem solving; patterns are explained and then practiced on concrete problems
