What it is about

In this module you will learn the system architecture, protocol layers and security aspects of networks used for national and international payments. In the end you will be able to assess fundamental architectures, security standards and authorization solutions and to evaluate types of attacks as well as mobile security concepts.

What you will be able to do

• Understand the fundamentals of payment network infrastructures
• Assess the architecture of hardware and software components
• Classify the most important protocols (e.g., ISO 8583)
• Know security architectures and relevant standards
• Distinguish authorization solutions and signature procedures
• Recognize attack types and assess countermeasures
• Evaluate security concepts for mobile architectures (including OTA)
• Consider the legal framework conditions of payments
