What it is about

You learn how to model and analyze systems in which computing elements are tightly linked to physical processes (Cyber‑Physical Systems). The focus is on continuous, discrete and hybrid dynamics as well as fundamental methods for simulation, stability analysis and control of such systems.

What you will be able to do

  • Create models for continuous, discrete and hybrid dynamics
  • Perform solutions of linear differential equations and simulations
  • Apply stability analysis and fundamental control principles
  • Understand and analyze discrete models (Moore/Mealy, Petri nets, Statecharts)
  • Learn basics of Model Checking, reachability analysis and Supervisory Control
  • Classify CPS networks and typical hardware components (sensors, actuators, computers)

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungTransmission of theoretical content through presentations and blackboard work
  • ÜbungDeepening and application of lecture content on practical examples

Teaching method

  • Vorlesung mit Präsentationen und Tafelanschriebfor structured conveyance of the theory
  • Begleitende Übungenfor practical deepening and application of the content
  • Selbststudium/Literaturarbeitfor independent deepening and acquisition of specialist knowledge
