What it is about

You will learn foundations and current developments of neuroprosthetics for arm and leg prostheses as well as methods for integration of control and sensory feedback. In the end you will be able to design concepts for mechatronic prosthetic systems, analyze EMG signals for multi-degree-of-freedom control, and critically assess functional evaluation methods.

What you will be able to do

  • Mechatronic design of prostheses
  • Integration of control interfaces
  • Analysis of electromyographic (EMG) signals
  • Development and assessment of sensory feedback
  • Design and improvement of functional assessments

What the module consists of

  • Vorlesung (2 SWS)Vermittlung von Grundlagen, Theorien und aktuellen Trends
  • Übung / Tutorium (2 SWS)Anwendung: Designprinzipien, Steuerungsmethoden (surface EMG), sensorisches Feedback, Entwicklung von VR-Umgebungen

Teaching method

  • VorlesungenEinführung in Theorie, Historie und aktuelle Forschungsthemen
  • Übungen und tutorielle AnwendungenPraktische Umsetzung von Design- und Steuerkonzepten, Analyse von EMG und Entwicklung virtueller Umgebungen
