Advanced Seminar Economics, Policy & Econometrics: Politics of Innovation & Technology

What it is about

The seminar examines why countries differ in success with innovation and technology policy and which political factors promote or hinder innovation. You will learn current concepts of innovation policy (e.g., mission-oriented policy) and you will be able to analyse national innovation systems and derive policy recommendations from scientific evidence.

• Read, understand and critically evaluate scientific articles
• Develop your own research question and identify gaps in the literature
• Derive policy recommendations from research findings
• Present results in writing and orally
