You engage with social and cultural perspectives on food, health and technical innovations. You learn who bears responsibility for nutrition and health (individual, family, state, market, medicine) and how scientific knowledge and technologies influence perceptions of “healthy”. In the end you will be able to apply concepts from STS, sociology and anthropology to analyse controversies and regulations around food and health.
