Alternative Investments

What it is about

You will learn the properties and development processes of alternative asset classes such as Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Private Debt, Infrastructure and Impact Investments. You will apply evaluation methods and, in a team, develop a concrete investment hypothesis including strategy, which you present in professional materials and defend to investment professionals.

What you will be able to do

• Analyze characteristics of different alternative asset classes
• Assess the role of alternative investments in portfolio construction
• Understand structures and business models of alternative investment funds
• Apply standard and context-appropriate valuation methods (e.g., DCF, multiples)
• In teams, develop an investment hypothesis and strategy based on market data
• Prepare and present results in professional investment documents
