What it is about
You will obtain an interdisciplinary overview of fundamentals and models of Computational Neuroscience as well as their applications, for example in neuroprostheses. In the end you will know anatomical and physiological basics, methods for modeling neuronal activity, and how such models can be used for technical applications.
What you will be able to do
- Understand the basics of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
- Describe neuronal processes in auditory and visual systems
- Know models of individual neurons and neuronal populations
- Knowledge of experimental data collection for parameterizing models
- Understand how models are used in neuroprostheses and technical applications
What the module consists of
- RingvorlesungDelivery of lecture content by experts from TUM and LMU
- SelbststudiumFamiliarization with provided handouts and referenced literature
Teaching method
- Vorlesung mit Videoprojektion und Tafelfor presenting content and concepts
- Praktische Beispiele und Demonstrationento illustrate experiments, measurement methods and applications
- Bereitstellung vertiefender Materialien durch Vortragende (z. B. auf Moodle)to support self-study
