AI-Driven Data Generation for ESG

What it is about

You will learn how AI-supported methods change the collection and preparation of ESG data, what opportunities and risks are associated with them, and how regulation and ethics influence this. In the end you will be able to perform critical analyses of AI-assisted ESG data generation, classify regulatory requirements such as CSRD and AI Act, and present research findings in an accessible way.

Critically analyze the transformative impact of AI on ESG data collection
Assess opportunities and risks of AI in ESG reporting (data quality, bias, transparency)
Understand and discuss regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU CSRD, AI Act)
Present and critically discuss research papers on AI and ESG clearly and precisely

Assessment

The module examination consists of a written report (ca. 6 pages) and a supporting presentation (ca. 15 minutes). The report should demonstrate the independent application of scientific methods to analyze a topic from the area of AI-driven applications in ESG and accounts for 70% of the grade. The presentation accounts for 30% of the grade. Information about duration in examination rooms or aids is not provided.
