AI-edited module sheet. Based on the TUMonline module description, edited for readability.Original in TUMonline

What it is about

You will get to know various novel computing technologies — for example quantum computing, reversible circuits, microfluidic systems (labs-on-a-chip) and field-coupled nanotechnologies. In the end you will understand the basic concepts, typical applications and how design steps and methods differ from conventional systems.

What you will be able to do

  • Know basic concepts and realizations of selected Emerging Technologies
  • Be able to assess potential and typical application areas
  • Understand differences in design steps compared to conventional systems
  • Survey methods and tools for realizing corresponding applications
  • Practice: gain initial experiences with programming tasks / mini-projects

What the module consists of

  • VorlesungConveying the concepts and design steps of the technologies considered
  • Hands‑on Sessions / ÜbungenDeepening the material through practical tasks and use of design tools

Teaching method

  • Präsentationen mit Folien und WhiteboardExplanation of the main concepts and design steps
  • Praktische Übungen mit Design‑ToolsEnabling hands-on experiences and application of what is learned
