What it is about

You learn how large language models (LLMs) can be targeted in Extended-Reality environments to design context-aware applications. In the end you will be able to identify contextual data sources, plan multimodal data collection and user studies, and critically evaluate design and implementation approaches for XR systems.

What you will be able to do

  • Definition and significance of context-aware applications in XR
  • Classification of context sources for XR experiences
  • Methods and metrics for evaluating user experiences
  • Design and technical implementation of context-aware XR systems
  • Multimodal data collection and evaluation of user studies
  • Identification of current limits and future research areas
  • Derivation of design principles for context-aware XR applications

What the module consists of

  • SeminarDiscussion, presentations and critical engagement with research works

Teaching method

  • Introductory presentation by lecturersConveying fundamentals of AI in context-aware XR environments
  • Student presentations from a selected paper poolFostering critical thinking and in-depth engagement with research literature
  • Critical discussions in plenaryDevelopment of improvements, ethical aspects and real-world applications
