What it is about
You work empirically on economic and consumer-related questions with R. In the seminar you learn economic theory, the methodology of data analysis, and under supervision conduct your own analysis on provided data sets. In the end you can perform your own analysis in R, place the results in a theory-based framework, and present them.
What you will be able to do
- Deepening microeconomic theories
- Recognition and reflection of possible biases in (consumer) decisions
- Critical assessment of empirical testability of (consumer) theories
- Knowledge of empirical studies on measurement and effect identification
- Carrying out your own data analyses with R on provided data sets
- Integration of your own results into a literature- and theory-based work
- Presentation and communication of the central findings
What the module consists of
