Advanced Seminar Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Sustainability In Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprises

What it is about

The seminar examines how sustainable entrepreneurship and sustainability management in family businesses can contribute to solving societal challenges. You will learn about opportunities, motives and barriers of sustainable business models and you will be able to assess, at the end, how sustainable ideas are identified, implemented and strategically managed — also using practical examples from the Heilbronn region.

What you will be able to do

• Understand the concept of Sustainable Entrepreneurship and sustainability in family businesses
• Recognize and evaluate how entrepreneurs seize sustainable opportunities
• Analyze motives and barriers of sustainable entrepreneurship
• Reflect on the role of diversity for sustainability
• Evaluate strategic measures of sustainable companies
• Assess practical examples from various sectors (e.g., governance, food, environment, mobility)
• Search, understand and critically prepare scientific literature
• Apply methods of data collection and analysis
• Structure and compose a seminar paper
• Present and discuss results in presentations
